The reason why it interested me was because recently I've started to suffer from allergies; stuffy nose, scratchy throat, wheezing, etc, so I tried it.

I googled it to see where I could buy one and the website said they could be purchased at Walmart. I went to Walmart and bought one. It was a bit expensive for me $15 but if it worked then it was worth it.

It's a plastic blue tea pot looking device and it comes with the saline solution. 50 packets of it. You add 8 ounces of warm (distilled or previously boiled water) and one packet of the saline solution to the pot, cap it and shake it to mix everything together. You put the spout in one nostril and tilt your head down and a little to the side over the sink.

I must admit, it was weird at first because you feel the water enter your nose and it fills one nostril but then it starts coming out the other nostril. It doesn't burn or sting and it shouldn't go down your throat. Make sure you keep your mouth open also. After all the solution drains out the pot, you blow your nose lightly and repeat with the other nostril.

I had a stuffy nose yesterday and I did it one time last nite and then again this morning and I must say, I feel good. My passages are open and clear and not clogged. You can use the neti pot 1-2 times a day. I will keep you posted on the longer term effects.

Delicious Lunch

So after an intense BEGINNER's step class. If that was beginner's, I don't think I'll ever try intermediate. After step class, I did Stretch and Release which was a great.

I brought a Hormel Compleats (not Completes) Beef Steak & Peppers for lunch. I bought it for my brother who has high blood pressure, but I did not have anything to bring for my lunch so I took his. Haha. I'll buy him another one.

It does not have to be refriderated and I found it in the spaghetti and meatball section of the Food Lion I was in. It cost around $2.15. Not too bad. Pokes some holes in the plastic and microwave for about 1 1/2 minutes.

It was VERY good. I must say I was a bit shocked it was so tasty especially since my brother tried the Teriyaki Chicken one and it was disgusting. He said it was super sweet, like someone poured sugar in it. But the Beef Steak and Peppers was flavorful and perfectly seasoned and the beef was nice and tender. Yum.

The only issue I had was that the noodles were a little too soft, but everything else was great!!!!! Highly recommend. But be careful. Hormel has plenty of different meals to select from, but not all are healthy for you. Look for the ones that have a red check mark on them. The ones without the red check can have more than 50% of your daily sodium.

210calories 580 mg Sodium (24% of daily value)
5g Fat 10% Daily Value Vitamin C and Iron
2g Fiber 15% DV Vitamin A
20g Protein

Barbecue Chicken Pizza

Today I made a barbecue chicken pizza. I saw the recipe in a coupon book. I used Pillsbury regrigerated Thin Crust pizza crust. I would have preferred a whole wheat crust but they did not have any. I would have made my own crust, but I was lazy.

Anyway, back to the pizza. I spread the crust on a baking sheet, added about 1/3 cup of regular barbecue on the bottom. Added chunk chicken breast in the can on top, along with red onions, garlic, and two types of cheese. Pepper jack and monterey jack. Put in a 400 degree F oven for about 10-12 minutes until the crust was golden brown and the cheese was bubbly. I also added a little Mrs. Dash table blend seasoning on it for more added flavor.

I cut the pizza into six slices. I ate two slices. It was very good. The crust was crispy on the edges and chewy in the middle. Perfect. I ate about a half cup of raw baby carrots and a tropical fruit cup with it to round out my lunch.

I would estimate the caloric intake of my entire lunch at around 500 calories. 1 serving of fruit and 2 servings of vegetables (carrots, onions), about 1 1/2 servings of dairy. It would have been better using a whole wheat crust for more fiber (fiber keeps you fuller longer and aids digestion). Can also add more veggies such as broccoli.

Burger King

I recently went to the Burger King in South Boston, VA and ordered a Spicy Chicken Wrap and chocolate chip cookies.

The chicken wrap was pretty good. Better than the spicy chicken wrap at Wendy's. The one at Wendy's had too much sauce and too much cheese for my taste. Burger Kings was almost perfect. I would have liked more chicken but what can you expect for $1.29 plus tax.

The cookies were DELICIOUS!! Moist and chewy. Yummy!!!!! And you get 2 for $1. Can't beat that.
